The winners projects of the Laboratórios de Verão 2025 have now been announced
The program to support artistic creation, promoted by gnration (Braga), CIAJG - Centro Internacional das Artes José de Guimarães (Guimarães) and Solar - Cinematic Art Gallery (Vila do Conde), will bring together four new artistic works.
"In Search of the Forgotten Image", by Catarina Braga, "Homúnculo", by Dora Vieira, "Botânica-eletromagnética", by Mariana Sardon, and "O Sangue da Pedra", by Renato Cruz Santos are the projects selected for the 2025 edition of the Laboratórios de Verão.
The selection process was carried out by a jury made up of Luís Fernandes (Artistic Director of gnration), João Terras (Artistic Director of CIAJG), Mário Micaelo (Artistic Director of Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery, Vila do Conde) and the Joana Pestana, who will also be curating the project this year.
The selected projects will be developed in an artist residency format at gnration and CIAJG. Afterward, they will be presented publicly - in an installation/exhibition format - as part of the cultural programs of each venue and Solar. In addition to a place to work and present their work, the selected projects will also receive monetary support of 2,000 euros, technical and production support, and curatorial support from Joana Pestana.
Created in 2015 by gnration, the Laboratórios de Verão seek to foster the development of new original artistic works in the Braga district and Vila do Conde municipality. The program has supported over three dozen projects and half a hundred artists throughout nine editions.
The Laboratórios de Verão program is promoted by gnration, CIAJG - Centro Internacional de José de Guimarães, and Solar - Cinematic Art Gallery, in partnership withLAC – Laboratório de Atividades Criativas.
