Joana Hintze unveils new art installation in Vila do Conde
The verde latente installation opens on Saturday, November 30, at 5pm, with the presence of artists João Gabriel and Joana Hintze.
About two years ago, in a forested area near Lagoa, a vibrant flora bloomed, displaying a variety of mesmerizing shades of green. Inspired by this natural ecosystem on the island of São Miguel, Joana Hintze created her latest audiovisual installation, latent green (verde latente). At the invitation of João Gabriel, she presents a conceptual and reactive forest in the CAVE space that feels and interacts with its surroundings, mirroring the dynamics of nature itself.
The inauguration will take place on November 30th, at 5pm, with the presence of the artists João Gabriel and Joana Hintze. The event will be accompanied by an open bar, sponsored by DCN Beers, and a DJ set.
The exhibition, which runs until February 1st, is organized by Curtas Metragens CRL, as part of the Solar - Cinematic Art Gallery program, with the support of Vila do Conde Town Hall and the Directorate-General for the Arts.

Joana Hintze (born 1993 in Lisbon) lives and works in Porto. She develops her work through digital color photography, exploring dark environments in the city at night, and capturing buildings, ruins, and nature. Her universe also encompasses an autobiographical dimension, such as the series of photographs taken from the noisy interior of the attic of her childhood home, offering us representations of sculptures, layers of dust, and, inevitably, memories.
Joana attended the photography course at the Ar.Co school from 2013 to 2018. She has produced two self-published books entitled Zona IX and STORM (2016 and 2017). She has exhibited her solo work at Grémio Literário, at Galeria Módulo - Centro Difusor de Arte, where she was represented, and at Espaço Verão, in Lisbon (2017, 2020 and 2022; Esfera Vertical, A Cor da Sombra and Fogão Azul). She has participated in several group exhibitions between Lisbon, São Miguel and Porto, and in two artist residencies in São Miguel, Azores (2018 and 2022). This year she presented the Vermelho-travão series at the Lehmann + Silva gallery and took part in the MEL group exhibition, a new collaborative project between Lehmann + Silva and the Monitor gallery. In 2024, he began work on his new studio, one of the six spaces for artists living in Porto that he won in a public competition.
