The work — an HD video (4:3), running 9 minutes and 46 seconds on loop — follows a researcher and craftswoman specialising in toys, who is invited to restore a collection of sound toys made from cane. Her investigation uncovers the legend of Aunt Raverina, a nineteenth-century figure said to possess the gift of summoning rain during a devastating drought.

The narrative also introduces the arrival of a mysterious traveller from the United States, who brought the tradition of rain dances to the region, turning Alsobio into a community known as the “Ravers”, devoted to perfecting movements designed to attract specific types of rainfall. Among the rituals still remembered is the “Drizzle Room”, now being restored as part of Carolina Garfo’s project.

"Raverina" culminates in a contemporary vision of this fictional village as an artistic hub dedicated to rain dances, where new generations reinvent and expand ancestral practices. It is a portrait of resilience, tradition and creativity, in which rain symbolises not only survival but also art and renewal.

The opening will take place on September 20th at 5:00 PM, and the exhibition will run until November 8th, at Cave of Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery.
