OUROBOROS, by Francisca Miranda and Inês Leal, Crónicas visuals de onde não estive, by Sally Santiago, Consonâncias Efémeras, by Sofia Morim and Filipe Carvalho and Melting Music, by João Miguel Braga Simões, José Diogo Martins and João Carlos Pinto are the projects selected for the 2024 edition of the Summer Labs.

The selection process was carried out by a jury made up of Luís Fernandes (Artistic Director of gnration), Marta Mestre (Artistic Director of Centro Internacional das Artes José de Guimarães), Nuno Rodrigues (Artistic Director of Solar - Cinematic Art Gallery, Vila do Conde) and the curator and art critic David Revés, who will also be curating the project this year.

The selected projects will be developed in an artist residency format at gnration and CIAJG. Afterward, they will be presented publicly - in a performance or installation/exhibition format - as part of the cultural programs of each of the venues and also of Solar. In addition to a place to work and present their work, the selected projects will also receive monetary support of 2,000 euros, technical and production support, as well as curatorial support from David Revés.

Created in 2015 by gnration, the Summer Labs seek to foster the development of new original artistic works in the Braga district and Vila do Conde municipality. Throughout nine editions, the program has supported more than three dozen projects and half a hundred artists.

The Summer Labs program is promoted by gnration (Braga), CIAJG - Centro Internacional das Artes José de Guimarães (Guimarães) and Solar - Cinematic Art Gallery (Vila do Conde), in partnership with LAC - Laboratório de Atividades Criativas (Lagos).
