Solar - Cinematic Art Gallery, continues it's programming line, with an exhibition by Mariana Caló and Francisco Queimadela, integrated in a cycle that began in 2018, promoting possible dialogues between different artistic areas, the plastic arts and the cinema. Assuming the disclosure of particular aspects in the work of Portuguese artists who despite their relative youth may even be consider consecrated, ends up fulfilling one of their main purposes, ensuring not only the space and the technical conditions necessary for the exhibition, but also the incentive for the national creation and production of original artistic works. Mariana and Francisco were in artistic residency in Vila do Conde last year, resulting in the present exhibition as a part of the corollary of this experience.

The Curtas Metragens CRL cooperative has been following the work of the duo, initially as part of collectives in the making of the 2007 films “Boca” and “Kispo”, which participated in the Take One! competiton of Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival in 2008. More recently, the Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery programmed an exhibition entitled “Terra”, from July 8 to September 17, 2017, to which the duo of artists was invited and would later propose a two-channel synchronous video installation entitled “Edge Effect”. Subsequently, was created the necessary complicity for this new experience, which, better than anyone, the artists themselves can express:
